Green Dragon Christmas 2017

New arrivals

CrollwitzerGreen Dragon visitors are in for a treat this Christmas! We’ve got some new arrivals on the farm that will be stars of the show when our Farmer Christmas Land opens in December!

Our young turkeys are the beautiful Cröllwitzers or Pied turkeys, a rare breed that is on the Rare Breed Survival Trust’s endangered list. Too small for commercial use, it’s used more as a show bird, but it’s meat is fuller flavoured when used for meat production.

Reindeer280917-0455The new baby reindeer arrived at the end of September and have now settled in nicely. Both female, they come from England’s largest working reindeer herd and, with our baby barn owls, form the beginning of our Wildlife Zone.

Other activities include Christmas Crafts, the Wishing Tree and Santa’s Sandpits.

Only £6 per child, with 2 free accompanying adults.

Nativity

crop“Our Nativity is a lovely way to celebrate and learn about the Christmas story for little ones and their families,” said Ray Marzec, farm owner. Children are invited to dress as characters from the story before going on a journey to Bethlehem. They will be led by farm staff, and friendly animals too, as they make their way into the stable. Here the group will be led in telling the story with words and songs. As well as the visiting public, the Nativity experience is on offer for preschools primary schools, where it will form part of a day visit to the farm led by the experienced farm staff.

Only £5 per child, with 2 free accompanying adults.
