A native to Australia this marsupial tends to live in the grassy fringes of woodlands and forests. It is a herbivore which grazes predominantly on grasses and other grassland plants.
Small isolated populations of Red-necked wallaby have survived in the UK having escaped from wildlife parkas and private collections, though many have ultimately died out. There are currently established populations in Scotland and the Isle of Man.
